Mr. Carr has over 30 years of global real estate investment experience. Prior to HighBrook, Mr. Carr spent 17 years with Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (“MSREI”), where he led the acquisition efforts on 29 transactions amounting to more than $1.7 billion of equity invested. During his tenure, Mr. Carr spent nine years in Tokyo and London, and eight years in the US (New York and Los Angeles). He led MSREI’s first investments in Japan (1998) and Germany (2001). Mr. Carr also played an instrumental role in opening new offices and building investment teams on four continents with MSREI. Noteworthy transactions led by Mr. Carr include the 2004 privatization of Canary Wharf, a series of eight distressed debt transactions in Japan, and a structured sale/leaseback with Deutsche Telecom. He left Morgan Stanley in 2010 as Managing Director and co-head of the Americas (2008-2010) for MSREI. Mr. Carr previously spent four years in acquisitions with CB Commercial Investors.
Mr. Carr also serves as the Vice Chair for Schools that Can, a not-for-profit network of K-12 schools in multiple US cities that provides career readiness programming.
Mr. Carr earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Letters & Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds dual US and UK citizenship.
