Mr. Carr is the Co-Founder, Co-Chairman and Managing Partner of HighBrook. As Managing Partner he is responsible for all aspects of the business, including executing the investment decisions of the Investment Committee. Previously he had been with Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (“MSREI”) for 17 years where he led the acquisition efforts on 29 transactions with more than $1.7 billion of equity invested. During his tenure, which included nine years overseas (Tokyo and London), Mr. Carr was instrumental in opening new offices and building investing teams on four continents. Mr. Carr led MSREI’s first investments in Japan (1998), Germany (2001). Several noteworthy transactions which Mr. Carr led include: the 2004 privatization of Canary Wharf, a series of 8 distressed debt transactions in Japan, and a structured sale/leaseback with Deutsche Telecom. He left Morgan Stanley in 2010 as Managing Director and co-head of the Americas (2008-2010) for MSREI. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Carr spent 4 years in acquisitions with CB Commercial Investors. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Mr. Carr serves as Co-Chairman and Managing Partner of HighBrook, and serves on the firm's Investment and Risk Management Committees.
